IBM's IMS database is 40 years old and going strong

As I have just written in one of my blogs: http://notestoneunturned.blogspot.com/2010/01/it-has-been-forty-years-for-me.html I've just reached the 40-year mark in the IT industry (that's not my age, just time in the industry).
